What we handle
- MCS-150 biennial update. Every carrier must update its USDOT record at least every two years, even if nothing changed. The due month is set by the last digit of your USDOT number and the year by the second-to-last digit. We file it and track the next one.
- Company changes. Name, DBA, address, phone, ownership, vehicle and driver counts, and operation type changes, filed with FMCSA and reflected in your UCR, IRP and IFTA records so nothing is out of sync.
- Authority reinstatement. If your authority was revoked for an insurance lapse or a missing BOC-3, we work with your agent to get the filing back on record and submit the reinstatement.
- Renewal calendar. One place that tracks your UCR, IRP cab cards, IFTA license and decals, Form 2290, state weight-distance accounts and Clearinghouse queries, with reminders ahead of each date.
- New entrant audit preparation. Help organizing driver qualification files, vehicle maintenance and inspection records, hours-of-service records and drug and alcohol program documentation before FMCSA’s audit.
We are not a safety consultancy or a law firm. Where a question needs an attorney, a safety consultant or your insurance agent, we say so and help you get it to the right person.
How it works
- We review what you currently have on file with FMCSA and your state and list anything that is missing, expired or inconsistent.
- You get a written summary and a quote for the clean-up and for ongoing support. [Confirm whether ongoing support is offered as a monthly or annual plan, and at what price.]
- We file the corrections, set up your renewal calendar and check in before each date.
What you will need
- USDOT and MC numbers
- Current registrations, cab cards, IFTA license and permit records, or just tell us what you think you have and we will verify it
- Insurance agent contact details, for reinstatements
- Any letters or notices you have received from FMCSA or a state agency
Common questions
What happens if I miss my biennial update?
FMCSA can deactivate your USDOT number and civil penalties can apply. A deactivated number causes problems at roadside and with brokers and shippers who check your status. The fix is to file the update, which we can usually do the same day you contact us.
My authority says “inactive” or “revoked”. How do I get it back?
Most revocations are for insurance. Your agent must refile the liability certificate with FMCSA, and if the BOC-3 is missing it must be refiled too. Then a reinstatement request is submitted with FMCSA’s reinstatement fee. We coordinate all three.
Can you just send me reminders without filing anything?
Yes. Some carriers prefer to file themselves and only want the calendar and a reminder. We can set that up. [Confirm whether this is offered and how it is priced.]
Next step: Request a compliance review. Give us your USDOT number and we will tell you what we find before you decide anything.
